1945 Chevrolet 1-1/2 Ton Dump Truck
Vehicle Description:
This is one of very few civilian vehicles that were produced during the war in 1945.
This is an exceptionally well preserved truck and is in complete running order.
When I purchased the truck it was not in running condition,
but the truck itself (body, frame, and dump bed) was in very good condition.
The exterior of the vehicle already had the 2-tone brown paint job that it has in the
photos.
I have not done any paint or body work on the truck since I purchased it.
I have concentrated on getting the truck running and making it road-worthy.
I have receipts for all mechanical work and I saved all original parts that were removed
or replaced.
I also have some new parts that will be included with the vehicle.
This truck still needs some work but is a very sound and safe vehicle.
6 Cylinder – 216 (6 volt), Manual 4-Speed, PTO Hoist/Dump
- Complete tune-up and ignition parts
- Carburetor rebuilt (Rochester), new choke cable
- New air filter assembly and filter element
- Gas Tank drained and cleaned, new gas line from tank to carburetor (new gas filter)
- Repaired heater core and heater fan, new heater hose, heater valve, and heater switch
- Replaced engine fan blade and fan belt
- New master cylinder, new stainless steel brake lines (complete), new front brake hoses
- Relined rear brake shoes, new front & rear wheel cylinders, new front & real
axle seals
- New front wheel bearings
- New manifold gasket
- New water pump and thermostat
- Replaced vacuum windshield wiper with electric wiper and switch, arm, and blade
- New turn signal system installed for safety purposes (column switch, harness, fixtures)
- License plate bracket and light
- New headlights, marker lights, required reflectors, and new horn button
- Oil change and chassis lube
- New heavy-duty 6v Battery / New 6v Alternator (Generator removed and saved)
- Installed new rear mud flaps as required by law
- Installed 2 new front tires (rear tires excellent condition)
- Truck passed IDOT inspection on July 2, 2006 (valid for 6 months)
New parts included:
- New air filter element
- New Carter W-1 carburetor (still in box)
- New fuel pump (still in box)
- New tie rod end (passenger side) (still in box)
- 2 New recap tires (not mounted)
- 1 spare tire (mounted).
